Swine Flu
So my son Tyler has the swine flu! Yeah I thought it would skip right over us. Why? I don't know. It seems like everything out there these kids get! By the time they are 6 or 7, both my kids will have iron immune systems! So I am home with him again today. It started Sunday night when he crawled into bed crying. It took me awhile to wake up and realize something was wrong. Why was there a heater lying next to me? That was my first thought. I swear. By the time I woke up and was out of my fog, Josh was already up getting the medication and I was taking his temperature. 102.5! Now that is why he felt like a heater. So we all fell back to sleep. Well all meaning everyone but me! At 10 his temperature was up to 103.7. Now I was freaking out at this point. My husband was trying to calm me down. All I could think was SWINE FLU! So we took him to the doctor and they tested him and he has the flu. Guess what? There's one treatment for it. Tamaflu. Problem is that they only give it out to children under 2 (he's 3) or elderly (again he's 3) or people with underlying health issues such as diabetes or heart disease. There is no medication to treat the flu other than motrin or tylenol to control the fever. So we are just waiting it out. Last night Tyler and I slept in the bedroom and my poor hubby slept on the couch. But today I am disinfecting everything in the bedroom, washing everything twice and moving Tyler and myself in the living room. Hey, it's not so bad. It has a big screen tv, I can drag the guest room mattress in there and it's closer to the kitchen. Although I am not sure that is such a plus for me since I am trying to lose weight!
